# confidence building

In this class, young children will not be swamped by tons by reading or writing exercises, but lots of fun and purposeful activities. Children who have developed good phonological awareness in the early stages are more likely to go on to successfully learn to read and write.

Musical activities are adopted to promote many aspects of literacy learning. Songs and rhymes can strengthen listening and vocabulary whereas sound differentiation activities can raise phonemic awareness.

Reading is not only about recognising words, we also make it a time for interaction and conversation. After reading, students are encouraged to use multiple means to respond to the book e.g. through arts and crafts.
